We had an impromptu Oscar’s get together, everyone bringing one appetizer. I decided to make these fig and stilton squares (mainly because they were easy and fast). They were not flattened as recommended but no one seemed to mind. Personally, I thought the Oscars were great – I was so happy that The King’s Speech won. I’ve loved Colin Firth ever since he played Mr. Darcy in the BBC version of “Pride & Prejudice.” Anne Hathaway was charming and James Franco was handsome (if, perhaps, a bit odd). All in all, I enjoyed the show.
